Test one of the extra transfers on an old garment of the same material first. Suitable materials listed in our guide: 100% cotton, 100% polyester, poly/cotton blends and cotton caps. Always check the garment care label.

Applying with a heat press

  1. Set your heat press to 130–150°C with medium pressure. Check garment suitability and test a spare transfer first.
  2. Pre-press the garment for 10–15 seconds to remove moisture and wrinkles.
  3. Position the transfer with the plastic/film side up. Cover with the supplied non-stick sheet.
  4. Press for 10–15 seconds using medium pressure.
  5. Allow to cool completely. Peel the carrier film when cold.
  6. Cover again with the non-stick sheet and re-press for 5 seconds. This final press is important.

Using a household iron

Use a heat press for transfers larger than 10cm. Our supplied instructions recommend this so heat and pressure are applied evenly.

  1. Pre-heat your iron to 130–150°C with steam off. Check your iron’s temperature guidance and garment care label.
  2. Pre-press the garment for 10–15 seconds to remove moisture and wrinkles.
  3. Place the transfer plastic/film side up and cover with the supplied non-stick sheet.
  4. Press for 10–15 seconds using medium pressure. Move the iron around to ensure the whole transfer is heated.
  5. Allow to cool completely, then peel the carrier when cold.
  6. Cover with the non-stick sheet and re-press for 5 seconds. This final press is important.

If the transfer does not apply correctly

If the transfer lifts while removing the carrier, cover again, apply more pressure and press for a few more seconds. If it melts or distorts, it has overheated; reduce the pressing time on your next test. Use the supplied non-stick sheet when re-pressing.

Finishing and aftercare

Machine-wash inside out at 40°C using a mild detergent. Do not bleach. Iron on reverse; do not iron directly onto the transfer.
